Welcome to Team Edison
Team Edison offers opportunities for students to help introduce them to the world of computer science and coding, guiding them along in their journey. Team Edison's courses provide a unique learning environment, where our experienced instructors first teach students through examples and discussion, then assist students in coding programs designed to practice their newly learned skills.
Programs
Introduction to Python Online Course
Content: Campers will learn fundamentals of Python coding, including how to:
-Use a coding development environment(IDE)
-Use different data types and operations
-Write functions with parameters
-Use modules such as Turtle
-Learn and practice fixing problems with their code(debugging)
On the last day of camp, participants will create a final project using all the skills they have learned. By combining their new knowledge of how to write Python code with a powerful built-in module that allows students to draw using Python, students will create a final art piece project, exhibiting all the new skills they have learned. An example project is shown to the right.

Schedule: Camp will be conducted Monday to Friday(6/13-6/17). Each class will be 90 minutes long, with the choice of attending either or two sessions:
-Morning Session: 10AM-11:30AM
-Afternoon Session: 4:30PM-6PM

Format: All sessions will be conducted on Zoom

Instructors
Team Edison programs are taught by qualified and experienced Palo Alto High School Students. Our team includes a variety of enthusiastic and high-achieving members, including members of the PALY Science Olympiad team, who provide unmatched teaching support to students while maintaining a fun learning environment.
